Welcome to CompuGeekz!

Here is a place to get to know me and what I am up to..

I grew up shadow of General Motors, My parents met on the floor of GM's Fisher Body plant 1 in Flint Michigan, When that closed and moved to Mexico.. GM sent us to Lansing where I spent my teen years in the home of the Oldsmobile. I myself spent 20+ years myself building car parts and things, I have only had 4 jobs as an adult and they have all revolved around manufacturing. So I might have a small thing for some of GM's car's.

I am a sailor first and foremost, It is my love and passion, I have a Older Hunter sailboat that I have been "fixen up"...

Adding a twist or two.. We can make it better.. Faster.. Stronger.. (If you get that reference... Ha Ha your old too...) An electric drive coastal cruiser, Just because I can.

I am an avid user of Ubuntu Linux and have been since the Gusty Gibbon release in October 2007..

I am also into amateur robotics and all things ARM... ie Arduino, Android, Odroid, and Raspberry Pi,  I have an extensive collection of these things and they are still pouring in..

I have always had a passion for computers and robotics since 1977 when Star Wars was released.. I got my first computer in 1982, a Tandy TRS-80 and I had started figuring out basic, and was writing my own small programs.. Oh the things I could do… Incidentally it was till recently the last computer I bought off the shelf,I found building them from the component parts was a much cheaper and often times a much better option.

Throughout the next several years I always had to have the latest and greatest in computer technology and at some point in the mid 90’s It was said I had more computing power then some small country’s.. My Watt meter always had a nice spin to it, If ya know what I mean…. Now a days I can order a Raspberry Pi for about 35 bucks and it is 100 times the computer that old TRS-80 was... So that brings us here.. Just a snapshot of my activity's.
